Our Tees & Hoods - Made in Los Angeles

Creating high-quality goods in a responsible manner is the backbone of Pro Gram Studios. We're all designers here and wear what we make, so this shit has to be on point. Our garments are designed and manufactured to last years.

In this post, we wanted to dive deeper into why we are currently manufacturing a lot of our garments in Los Angeles and provide some transparency into our supply chain.

1. Quality Fabric & Construction

The cotton we use is 100% responsibly grown and milled in America. The technique used to mill the cotton differs from other areas of the globe, and you'll notice a unique hand feel to all our pieces as a result. These guys are one of the best in the game, and when you get a Pro Gram piece in your hand, you'll know what we mean.

Our T-shirting fabric ranges from 6.5oz to 8.5oz, and our sweatshirts come in at a gorgeous 14oz (Very heavy boss!). This ain't no ASCOLOUR or Gildan joint kids!

2. Sustainably produced, ethically made.

We know these are buzz words, but our L.A Factory backs this claim up. Workers in the factory are paid well above minimum wage, with starters earning an average of $20 an hour and the more experienced workers, many of whom have worked here for 20+ years earning $35+ an hour, with benefits, overtime & productivity bonuses. We're stoked to be able to support this and help drive change within the industry.

On the sustainability front, nearly 100% of our factory's production and shipping by-products are recycled. No plastic is used when the goods are shipped to us, just a good old-fashioned box, which we then recycle on at our end. Scrap fabrics are also used to make unique one-off pieces and other goods if possible before they are thrown out.

California has the most stringent environmental protection rules imposed on the industry for dying fabric. All garments are garment dyed in California, so you can be sure this is done in the most environmentally way possible.

In a perfect world, we'd produce everything locally here in Australia & New Zealand, but to source the quality fabric we're after this currently isn't possible. If you read this far we appreciate your time and hope we don't sound too wanky, we're just proud we can make this work. Our vision isn't to mass produce garments that no one really needs. Our work is our art.

Cheers,
Tom.
